Nicolò Palazzetti is a Postdoctoral Researcher in Music and Theatre at “Sapienza” University of Rome, studying the impact of digitisation and streaming of opera on the presentation, diffusion and reception of this genre. He is particularly interested in contemporary forms of opera fandom. Nicolò completed a doctoral thesis in 2017 at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris) dedicated to the reception of Bartók’s music in Italy and has written a monograph on this topic: Bela Bartók in Italy. The Politics of Myth-Making (The Boydell Press, Woodbridge 2021). Nicolò served as a Teaching Fellow in Music at the University of Birmingham from September 2017 to December 2018 and as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Teaching Assistant in Music at the University of Strasbourg from January 2019 to May 2021. He has been awarded two scholarships from the Giorgio Cini Foundation (Venice, 2015–16) and the Paul Sacher Foundation (Basel, 2018–20).
