Born in Greece and living in France, he is Professor of Musicology at the University Paris 8 and director of the research team MUSIDANSE. He has published many books and articles about new music, and is one of the main international specialists on the music of Xenakis. Following on from his book De la musique au son (Engl. trans: From Music to Sound, Routledge, 2019), he is now developing the frameworks for an ecology of sound and music.

Nato in Grecia e residente in Francia, è professore di musicologia all’Università di Parigi 8 e direttore del gruppo di ricerca MUSIDANSE. Ha pubblicato numerosi libri e articoli sulla nuova musica, ed è uno dei principali esperti internazionali della musica di Xenakis. A partire dal suo volume De la musique au son (trad. inglese: From Music to Sound, Routledge, 2019), ha orientato la sua ricerca sui temi dell’ecologia del suono e della musica.
