Literature and music: Pound and the Vivaldi renaissance
Pound was a passionate cultivator of old music, especially the lute and virginal repertoire of the Elizabethan period, as well as of modern music, particularly the works of Antheil. The poet’s role in the Vivaldi revival is reviewed. Pound had ties to the Accademia Chigiana (Siena) through Olga Rudge, Alfredo Casella, and Count Guido Chigi Saracini.
