Sonja Jüschke studied Musicology and German language and literature studies in Koblenz. After graduating in 2012 with a Magister thesis about Thomas Weelkes’ Madrigals of Five and Six Parts (1600), she started working on a dissertation project concerning chorus numbers in late 19th century British comic operas. Since 2017, she is a research assistant at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main. She has recently finished and defended her dissertation “How to Begin? Operatic Introduction in Late Victorian Popular Musical Theatre”.
