Communities, experiences and transmission of musical knowledge in the context of the Chigiana courses
On the grounds of a participant observation carried out during a selected number of Chigiana summer courses, the paper will try to reconstruct the differences and specificities of their students. Their musical experience will not be the only issue taken into consideration, but it will be described within the context that surrounds it.
The paper will reflect on the spaces the students pass through, the places in which they attend classes and the urban spaces of the town that hosts them. It will also consider the experience of the time they spend in Siena. This will show how Chigiana students form a community in different ways, rooted in their different understandings of music, their identities and, therefore, their experiences in Chigiana.

Comunità, esperienze e trasmissione del sapere musicale nell’ambiente dei corsi chigiani
A partire da un’osservazione partecipante condotta durante alcuni corsi estivi dell’Accademia Chigiana, si cercheranno di ricostruire le differenze e le specificità degli studenti che li hanno animati. Non si guarderà soltanto all’aspetto musicale della loro esperienza, ma a tutto quello che ne fa da contorno. Si rifletterà tanto sugli spazi che attraversano, quello in cui si tengono lezioni così come quello della città che li ospita, quanto sul tempo vissuto e sui modi di viverlo durante la loro parentesi senese. Si mostreranno così i diversi modi di fare comunità dei giovani musicisti chigiani, inevitabilmente radicati nelle loro differenti concezioni della musica, delle loro identità e quindi della loro esperienza in Chigiana.
