Maria Rosa De Luca is Associate Professor in Musicology and History of Music in the Department of Human Sciences at University of Catania. Her research activity involves, above all: the history of music through a perspective of social history, the historical soundscape studies and Bellini’s works. To Bellini she has dedicated the editing of Vincenzo Bellini et la France. Histoire, création et réception de l’oeuvre (Lim, 2007), articles in scholarly journals, and recently a book on Bellini’s youthful years (Gli spazi del talento. Primizie musicali del giovane Bellini, Leo S. Olschki, 2020). She is Director of the Bellini Foundation and co-director of the «Bollettino di studi belliniani». On behalf of University of Catania, she is scientific coordinator of “BellinInRete Project”.
