Soprintendente archivistico per le Marche dal 2009 al 2011, dal 2012 al 2015 è stato Direttore del Servizio Studi e ricerca presso la Direzione generale per gli archivi dove ha coordinato, tra l’altro, i Portali tematici dell’Amministrazione archivistica e i progetti di ricerca finanziati dalla Direzione generale. Nel 2015 è stato nominato Soprintendente archivistico e bibliografico del Lazio, dopo aver ottenuto da maggio a settembre 2015 la carica di direttore ad interim dell’Istituto centrale per gli archivi che si occupa di standard per la descrizione e la digitalizzazione di materiale archivistico. Autore di oltre 60 pubblicazioni, ha mantenuto la carica di soprintendente archivistico e bibliografico del Lazio fino al pensionamento nel 2018. Dal 2019 è Sovrintendente all’Archivio storico dell’Accademia di San Luca e coordinatore dell’Archivio e della Biblioteca dell’Accademia Musicale Chigiana.

He was Superintendent for the Archives in the Marche Region from 2009 to 2011. From 2012 to 2015, he was Head of the Study and Research Service of the Directorate General for the Archives where, in particular, he co-ordinated the thematic portals and the research projects promoted and funded by the Directorate General. In 2015 he was nominated Superintendent for the Archives and Libraries of the Lazio Region and from May to September 2015 acted as interim Director of the Central Institute for Archives, where he was involved in developing standard practices for the description and digitization of archival material. He is author of over 60 publications and he held the position of Superintendent of the Lazio Archives and Libraries until 2018, when he retired for age and work limits. Since 2019 he is Superintendent for Historical Archives of the Accademia di San Luca and coordinates Archives and Library of Accademia Musicale Chigiana.
