Stradella’s “Esule dalle sfere”: a Structural Masterpiece

An analysis of Stradella’s sacred cantata Esule dalle sfere (1680) with respect to its formal components, style characteristics, and structural design, based on a comparison of the two extant manuscript sources in the Biblioteca Nazionale Universitaria, Turin (I-Tu Giordano 12), and the Biblioteca Estense, Modena (I-MDe Mus.F.1148).
